WHY MEASURE WEALTH?

Many programs in developing countries prioritize serving the poor, yet face challenges when trying to determine whether they are reaching their intended population. Conventional approaches may include expensive and infrequent evaluations, or anecdotes. Program leaders need data and real-time feedback to adjust and improve service delivery. HOW DOES THE EQUITYTOOL WORK?

The EquityTool is a short, country-specific questionnaire. On average, each survey is only 12 questions long. Three easy-to-use methods to collect data are available depending on your program’s needs. With our web-based app, results are calculated automatically and formatted into a simple report that can be downloaded and shared throughout your organization. Data can also be collected through DHIS2, or any other paper or computer based data collection platform.

WHAT INFORMATION WILL THE TOOL GIVE ME?

After analysis, you will learn what percentage of your respondents are in each national wealth quintile. This means that you can see whether you are serving the relatively rich or poor in your country. You can also see how your respondents compare to people who live in urban areas.
